Faculty of Humanities

About the Faculty of Humanities
The Faculty of Humanities offers a multifaceted study of culture, with a focus on language, literature, and history, while fostering both imagination and logical thinking skills. The program comprises three areas of study: Japanese Cultural Studies,
International Cultural Studies, and Cultural History.
Students select the area that best aligns with their interests at the time of admission. From their first year, students have the opportunity to take specialized courses, allowing them to explore their interests from an early stage.
Additionally, as all areas share the same Faculty of Humanities curriculum, students can choose courses according to their interests, enabling flexible learning that broadens their academic horizons. Students can design a timetable that allows them to fully pursue their passions — for example, focusing on Japanese literature while also taking classes in Japanese history and Japanese art history.
