About the Faculty of Global Citizenship Studies

The Faculty of Global Citizenship Studies program consists of two areas: “Community Development,” which covers social, psychological, and environmental studies, as well as international cooperation and Japanese language education; and “Social Design,” which covers design, business, and media.

The program is based on a “field-centered” curriculum incorporating fieldwork, internships, and subjects in the media and digital domains. After acquiring “101 Concepts,” the faculty's unique set of concepts for analyzing and resolving social issues, students engage in projects in collaboration with local governments, organizations, and companies, as well as student-led fieldwork conducted in Japan and abroad. Students acquire the ability to think and make judgments, as well as the means to solve problems, to “live better.”
